Here are my stats. Have been doing it since 3 months and have clocked 730km on the Odometer.

Bike: Hero Octane NV, 21 gears
City: Bengalooru
Route: J P Nagar 8th phase, puttenahalli, J P Nagar 3rd phase, Jayanagar 9th block, Sagar Apollo hospital, BOSCH Adugodi
Distance: 24km per day
Number of days in a month: strictly all
Major junctions: I take suburbs. but I have to endure the Bannerghatta road till Sagar Apollo in the evenings.
Major climbs: have not felt much with the 21 gears
Reaction at office: people are jealous but the inspiration is not there for them to start.
Reaction on the road: some cabs and autos irritate me on the road. with a few car drivers (driving with some blue tooth gizmos hanging all around) who honk incessantly, I want to stop in the middle of the road and slap them :-)
Future plans: take part in some long bike trips

Hi all commuters,
I have only just started, only been two days. I commute from TC Palya(KR Puram) to Bagmane tech park, CV raman nagar. It is around 16 Kms to and fro and I intend doing this daily as it is so much fun without causing any more damage to our lovely environment. Cheers to all of you guys, truly an inspiration!

From past two months I have been biking to my office - from Akshayanagar to Indiranagar. Sometimes the road (I hv to climb upto 60meters), traffic, pollution etc. irritate me and discourage me from biking... But still I make it a point to commute at least twice a week to work...

I wanted to derive inspiration from all of you here, and take my commuting to the next level. From 2009, I intend to commute only by my bicycle... Here are my current biking stats, can you guys start posting yours and help motivate others in the team?

Distance - 31km per day
Number of days in a month - 5 to 8
Major Jns - Bommanahalli, St. Johns, Ejipura
Major Climbs - On my way back from Indiranagar, entire Inner Ring Road scares me...
Future plans - to commute to work almost everyday by bike...

Feel free to change the format and post your stats....

Here are my stats. Have been doing it for the past month.

Bike: Firefox Target
City: Bengalooru
Route: Nandidurga Road to Trinity Circle
Distance: approx 12-14 kms (dependng on the route)
Number of days in a month: 2-3 per week...(being a lawyer its difficult to cycle to work everyday...esp since we dont have shower facilities in office). though i use the cycle for possible everything else from visting friends houses, going to the gym, going out at night for dinner to restaraunts etc etc. (except grocery shopping)....have been managing about 100 kms per week.
Major junctions: Manipal centre, MG road, St johns Road
Major climbs: underbridge after cole's park, cantonment station
Reaction at office: everone wants to know about the price etc etc of the bike
Future plans: take part in some long bike trips, get shower facilities installed in office, make my cycles my primary form of transport

ps: all you stats are truly a source of inspiration...

i started cycling a week ago on my new Firefox Dart 2.6. One thing i should mention is that i have developed tremendous respect for the cyclers.. not just we guys who do it for fun/health, but also for the guys who have no other option but to ride the cycle for transport.

I have been a car guy for the last 3 years and now understand how much of a difference it makes to cyclist if the mechanised guys stop and give way to the pedallists...

Hi Folks,

First day to work on my Firefox Dart 2.6. (Just reached office!)
Kaggadasapura(CV Raman Nagar) to Indiranagar (behind barbq nation).. approx 5-6 kms.. not sure though

Started at 8.50 from home and came through DRDO, Tippasandra and onto 100 feet road. the ride wasnt as difficult as i expected, except that i got breathless during the first 10 minutes.. then got into the groove and had a great experience cycling.. Reached office at 9.20

I consider this as quite an acheivement as im a big man at 103 kgs.. hope to continue cycling to work atleast twice a week.. cant do more than that bcos im in sales and need to be on the move... well, lets see how it goes!

Thanks to the forum for the great moral support!!

PS: The OEM seats of the Firefox Dart 2.6 are pretty bad.. need to get a broader seat.. any suggestions? I guess the seats are not built for big men!

I have been biking to work from 2000

Here are my stats:

Bike - Merida TFS 100
City- Bangalore
Distance - 41kms per day
Number of days in a month - Almost all working days
From - RT Nagar
To - ITPL
Cycling since: 2000 (not always to ITPL)
Total odometer till now: All bikes combined 46000km so far, all in Bangalore.
Major Jn - KR Pura, Hennur cross on ORR.

Other bikes owned: Hero hawk (on this I clocked 36K out of the total 46K), BSA Foldman

Motivating line for others: If I can pedal with 106 kgs, what is preventing you?

-----------------------------
Keep the fantastic rhythm going. Keep cycling.

Well I am anoop from Mumbai.

Bikes: - FF Target, Mangose MTB, Atlas Concorde
Distance covered: - approx 28 km (to and fro, every day) there are days when I cannot cycle to work.
From: - Malad (w)
To: - Andheri (e)
Since: - I have been riding to work since last 1year+
Bike Wear: just a tee and jeans so that I am not understood as a professional biker :) so may be looking at me, Others also start cycling. But I always wear a helmet.
Ride distance: - 8000+ km including weekend rides.

Other Commute options: motorbike, carpool, Bus. (But I reach early to work only on cycle; yes motorbike at time reaches fast, not always)
Major Junctions: - Malad link road, Andheri subway.
No climbs

Future plan: - Make Cycling more familiar among every one in Mumbai. Inspire people to ride :), ride from Mumbai to Kerala.

Sorry for such a long and boring post.

Thank you for reading.
Keep cycling guys and gals.

I remmeber the first day (4 months ago) I had cycled to office, panting, sweating and cursing myself that I am not gonna do this crazy thing again! :)

But, now, the story is whole lot different. Here are some of the stats:

Bike - Bijli (to the uninitiated in Hindi, it means Lightening, a 21-gear golden beauty, direct descendent of the Trek 3700 hardtail mountain bike family.
City - Hyderabad
Distance: 14 km (to and fro)
Number of days = 2-3 days a week
Major Jns - Gachibowli jn
Major Climbs - climb near Pullela Gopichand academy and from the Microsoft gate 4 to gate 1 were real overkills, but regular ridings with the club have made them into a breeze!.
Future Plans - Continue commuting to office.

Also, regular riding in the group with the club has converted a shy novice like me to a simling cyclist who now also does real cross-country stuff covering 100+ kilometers in a day! Now, every saturday, I cycle ~80-100kms.

Just Ride!
