help..! bike @15k

hi people,
Recently i have been recruited in a company in salem(tamil nadu).
this place is surrounded by huge n beautiful hills,
the reason i want to buy a bike is to roam around this natural places as well as for the daily commute.
primarily the use would be in the city.

i have a budget of 15k.
reading few topics in this forum has made my decision strongly inclined to an imported bike.
so please suggest me one that would be comfortable, durable n best in the lot.

i wanted to go for a schwinn(knowing for its market dominance), but seems like due to 20% hike in duty it is
now 19K, will it be a worth buy if i increase my budget to 20k..?
also Giant snap 21 is for 15k...will dat be a worth buy...please compare it with schwinn...

Hi Ketan, How much did you get it for? Also for regular use, do you feel the front shocks are required? I am contemplating between with or without front shocks.
