Although this speculation might earn the wrath of the said team, it has come to my notice that as on last saturday, the said team had 18 members. The spokesman of the team was did not comment on 2 additional members currently on the fence. I estimate the current count to be above 20.

Their strategy is that of the Mumbai Indians. You dont need them but still buy them so others don't have them!

Please enlighten me- whats so silly about having a kickstand on a bike. I have an act 110s and Giant yukon, both came with kickstands from shop and I never bothered this much about having a kickstand. Are you guys talking about road bikes only or any bike in general. I think if the bike is being used for commutes, having a kick stand (and rack) can be very helpful.

I've often wondered about this anti-kickstand behaviour myself. I can understand why those useless plastic fenders earn ridicule, and why newbies are enjoined to 'lose' them; but a kickstand is quite handy, especially if you use your bike as a commuter or city runabout. My guess is that the pros hate it because it reminds them of training wheels.

I have a kickstand on my MTB and not on my hybrid, and on the latter I do miss it at times. It's not a dealbreaker, but it's nice to have when you're popping into a store and don't have to hunt for a wall or a kerb to lean your bike against. The extra weight hardly matters, considering I could stand to lose 15 kilos of adipose and the kickstand doesn't weigh even one-tenth of that. It helps that my kickstand doesn't rattle, or foul with the spokes. YMMV.

I think the biggest reason for the anti-kickstand tenor is the possibility of the kickstand causing damage to the ride itself, or even the rider in case of an accident. It's obviously something useful to have, but I don't buy the argument of not finding a wall/pole to lean your bike against.

Especially for the crowd around on this forum, I'm sure our bikes have a significant amount of money (as well as emotional weight), attached to them. You might go down to the local store, but you will lock your bike. You aren't going to just leave it leaning on it's kickstand by itself, on the road, right? When you can find a spot to lock your bike against, you can surely find a spot to lean it.

Seen and ridden the bike. not impressed.

Largely because I don't see why I should pay 7K+ for a Indian made single speed, it does not attract the customs or other duties and should be a lot lesser IMO. At the current price I'd much rather up and get the Rockrider 5

The good part is that it is hero made, with components you can upgrade ( I guess without having to search really really hard for some WWI spec parts) and the tyres and tubes are Ralson (which means that desi schrader valved tubes should hopefully be available) and such like stuff

It is huge improvement over the Atlas rattletraps, al rims, v brakes, much lighter and sigh if only the pricing were right. and if only it were 700c and not 26".
