anyone can lend a bike OR 9spd Wheels for 2 days in Blr?

Postby kk27 » July 31st, 2012, 12:34 am

Will be in Bangalore from tomorrow till 9th(possibly).... would like to ride on the weekends. Anyone who can lend me a bike for the 2 days OR just 9spd wheels so I can bring my Scott??

I'll most probably be staying somewhere close Electronics City or at Nagnathpura so do let me know.

Would also like to know some good roads to ride on.

Though sill contemplating of getting my Olmo Fixe for riding, but also thinking to give Nandi a shot which will be a Very Loong ride.

Thanks man!!!

Anyway won't need it, getting my fixe since I was looking at riding the 200brevet on it. My current ratio of 52-18 won't really allow me a smooth climb up nandi! But let's see how things will fall in place. Was thinking riding upto krishnagiri or some other nice ride on sunday!

No, please do not ride krishnagiri and back via hosur by NH. The NH is currently being converted from 4 to 6 lane and the roads have been dug up in lots of places and in many cases the road shoulder width is severly compromised making it dangerous for cyclists.

hehehe.... yes.

So what other nice places to ride around from Electronics City?

Was thinking of doing a 100mile ride, a ride to Nandi will come to 150+ anway; so possibly I might ride nandi & go up till wherever my legs take me :)

Something in me says KK will come back very sad looking at how great the bicycling scene is in Bangalore and of course the abundance (and of course the kind of people there) of places to ride. I'm sure he will now understand the frequent cribbing from me about riding in Bombay.

hahaha... well I'm very aware of the same. But Cycling in Bombay aint bad, I ride & I have a few friends who ride & that's all I need :). Though it is improving, last sunday we had a 20k TT in which some 30odd guys took part, this was on Eastern Express way. And there were some serious guys & leisure all kinds.

I though had a very eventful & wonderful day, Just 3-4kms into the TT my FD wire came loose so had to do the entire ride on the 39T :), then as luck would have it.... just a 50-60mtrs to the finish My chain broke!

So it's improving & will certainly improve. Though I personally feel one doesn't need a cycling scene to enjoy cycling.

Anyway Thanks deepsan, if the roads are nice will surely try & ride that route. Anyone willing to join or has better plans to ride on the weekends, if the BZers are planning a ride I'll certainly like to join in.

Are you free in the mornings around 8am? I'm up for a ride tomorrow. ~60kms should be good.

Today's ride was one of the best ones I've ever ridden, the weather, the roads, the view.... simply superb.. and Then the climb over the Bull. The tougher it is the more enjoyable it is!!!! couldn't imagine that my legs will take me till the top on the Olmo.

A real thanks to Venky for all his support & a hearty lunch :). Thanks man.

Congratulations. Insane, like I said on FB but congrats anyway.

Glad you got in a good ride. Would have reflected poorly on Bangalore cyclists I guess if you didn't get any company at all. :(
