Please Help me

Postby coolpiyush15 » June 18th, 2012, 11:21 pm

Hi Guys,

I am a 30 yr old guy with a weigth of approx 85kg. I want to start cycling again and looking for a reasonable bike.
I owned a Hero Hawk during school and used it for almost 5 yrs before it was stolen.
I want buy the Hero Hawk nu -age again but i am a little scared hearing that it will cause Backache and Spinal pain.
I would be cycling a max of 10 Kms on a daily basis and mostly on smooth Roads. Is the sitting posture of Hero Hawk comfortable or it is bound to cause Back problems ?
Also does Hawk come with normal brakes or It has the V brakes(commonly known as Power Brakes , This is different from Disc Brakes).

Also does anyone have an idea about Hercules MTB Rebellio 619. This is the second option i have in mind after hawk.
Please suggest what type of bike should i go for.

That sounds pretty dramatic. Where are you hearing this?

I got this feedback from the shop vendors and some of my frnds but since i have owned a hawk in past i know it is not that bad.
I am a lil scared of buying it bcos with a height of 5'8 , i am overweight and not sure if Hawk will be a stable option. Also Is the Handle bar comfortable as we need to bend a bit in order to ride it.

I feel hybrids are the better option for you considering that you want to ride moslty on smooth roads. Do you have any budget in mind?

As i starter i dont want to spend a fortune on my first bike. Looking for somthing arnd 5K.

Also if someone is using a Hawk or a Mac , acn you throw somme light on the sitting posture of these cycles. Is it comfortable or one needs to bend a lot ?

Drop bars may not be practical for prolonged road usage. Consider bsa mach city 19" (i think its 6-speed) with straight bars. Comes within your budget.
