After school days, I got back to cycling 3 months back and have ridden my Hero Hawk for 1000+ kilometers.
I'm no professional cyclist and would like to share my review about this cycle.
What you'll like:
1) Price
2) Accessories list (includes mud guards, rack. The cycle pump is useless though)
3) Thin tires
4) Cheap to maintain
5) Relatively robust
6) Can literally fly on down slopes
What you won't:
1) Braking
2) The height may not suit everybody
My Experience:
I started getting knee pains when jogging that forced me to take up cycling after a long time. It was initially a shock to me after seeing the prices, as my expectation for a cycle was around 1500 INR
I bike almost daily to office that comprises around 22 KM to and fro. I've removed the extra handle bar for resting the elbows for weight reduction. The mud guards and rack are still there. First service was done after 100 KM that costed 250 bucks. Later, the front brake pads were changed to bigger ones as the stock ones completely wore off within 200 KM of riding. Got a pump as I have to fill air every 3 days, thanks to thinner tyres.
The chain has loosened a bit and I'd be rectifying it in my next service which would be after 500 KM.
On the whole, this is a reliable one and I'm very satisfied with the buy. Pl let me know if I've missed anything and I'll be happy to answer you.
Thanks!
