Order plenty of stuff from all over. You'll pay duty on some, but the more that you order the more you can amortize the duty over.

Please post pics and a review when you receive the set. I've been eyeing similar, Giant branded kit on DX.com

I saw on some site that this is a chinese site and quality is not good. I was also planning to buy some cycling cloths but did not order.
Pls share your experience if anyone bought something from this site.

I'm pretty sure that a fair share of your possesions are made in China, including your bike (unless it's Indian) and almost all of it's accessories.

The quality of products from DX.com is no better or worse than any of the aforementioned products.

http://www.voler.com/browse/cat/?cat=Sale,Tops&vm=1

Voler has a mystery grab bag of jerseys. I believe there is also a coupon floating around that knocks off another 20%. Effectively $50 for 4 very good quality jerseys. I'd rather hunt/wait for deals like this than buy clothing off of DX.

The 'mystery grab bag' includes jerseys that are seconds as well as sizing samples i.e. defective pieces or ones that have been worn. In my experience, DX.com has the same products sold at other sites but at much better prices with shipping included, which makes it an unbeatable deal.

Take a look at http://forums.roadbikereview.com/hot-de ... 55149.html for more on these.

DX.com is a Hong Kong based website that sells many blatant fakes. Please rest assured that the Shimano/Giant branded items on there are NOT authentic. They might work out for you (in terms of satisfaction), but that in no way makes them the real deal.

Also, have you never shopped at a factory outlet? And when was the last time that you walked into a clothing store and didn't pick up a piece of the racks to try on? Surely there must have been a lot more folks 'trying' those on.

Also, Voler was just an example implying that there are deals to be found if you are patient.

They may be 'fake' in the sense that Shimano/Giant gets no royalty from these items but a lot of Chinese 'fakes' are often made in the same factories that the 'originals' are made. Someone runs an extra shift to make a little money on the side or some factory owner produces a few thousand SKU's of a model that has been phased out.

I'm not stoked on the idea of paying money for some mystery jersey that may be a second (I'm less worried about sizing samples, I have a garment exporter in the family and have grown up wearing those, though it may matter to some.)

Your mileage may vary. Not trying to argue with you, just saying that don't knock DX's products before you've tried 'em. I haven't had a bad experience with them yet.

Have you ever been disappointed? I have had electronics shipped to me for less than I would pay locally and they have worked perfectly. I may as well put my money where my mouth is and order the Giant kit. Will let you know how it works out.

I dont care if its fake ...... Most of the branded cloth in India are fake ..... As long as the Quality is good, I'm good, I dont care what brand name is printed on it.
The review on the site for cycling apparel is good, I'm just giving it a try will post photos / comments for sure.

There were some athlete wear from reliance trends, they are good and cheap. Only problem was the jersey didnt have those back pockets. I have saddle / top tube bag and can live without back pockets on my jersey !!

relax guys. assuming you're done showing off your google image skills, here is my tuppence:
a. the theory that its made in the same factories is bullshit. i have not bought jerseys off Dx but off other chinese sites such as teamscycling and 4ucycling (or such - pls look up). i think they are excellent for the price and do a great job. BUT its not the same thing as say shoes where you can definitely get a very decent quality no-name knockoff that will be 99% equivalent.
b. If i compare this jersey with the stuff from love2pedal (entry level), agu (mid level), campagnolo (high level) - its nowhere. fact. Its a decent journey to train with, but i will not do a planned century in their jerseys.

The closest i can think off is the college time "ludhiana dry-fit" tee shirts that one got made in 350. seemingly there but not quite there - if u understand what i mean. Just like everything else. TANSTAAFL. Once u are okay with that, its great for its purpose. But you still need that speyshul jersey all the same - except StrawberryJihaad

But yes, it still beats the shit out of the btwin crap hands down.

Is that commentary on how shitty the btwin stuff is, or first hand experience with DX stuff?

I have one 'Chinese' bibs and it is pretty crappy compared to even mid level 'genuine' stuff like PI or Giordano. I have some 'Chinese' jerseys' and all I can say is that I liked them till I bought some 'genuine' jerseys.

I would not buy the fakes again. YMMV. Not a morality issue either.

I would vouch for the shitty btwin stuff is part. I only wear btwin stuff these days because I bought so many o them. False economy, really.
