The muscles screaming, the breath labored and the heart ready to explode. The spirit unfazed, the masochist wanted more. He refused to give up.

But as the pedals refused to move any further, he loosened the toe clips and got the foot out in time to stop. It was 5.4km into the climb. He took a few seconds to let the heart calm down before he was ready to suffer again.....

Hi

This is OT, but I am seeing clip pedals for the first time on BZ. Everyone seems to use clipless pedals. Which are very expensive and look rather weird.

Do you get these pedals as a complete unit or do you buy only the clips and fix on the pedals?

And advantages of this system over the clipless system.

Thanks

You can get them as a unit or get the clips separately. Not all pedals will have slots for attaching the clips.

As for the comparison, check online. IMO, clipless is easier to use.

Thanks for the ride report Venky :2thumbs

The rider riding the volmo has good atheletic cycling posture. KK do you do anyother excercises for flexibility and nimbleness like weightlifting/skipping etc?

Hey Venky thanks again for this!!!

Hehe... Thanks Boni, good to hear you enjoyed :D

@Grasshopper - Well I also use Clipless pedals on all my other bikes, just his one has Toe Clips, reason is it keeps the bike Vintage enough ;). But yeah I like Toe Clips, esp with the Fixe, Just that going up a hill makes it a little tough on them.

@ Aravind - didn't know how you could figure that out. But I don't really do anything else apart from regular stretching.

Though I strongly believe that having a right posture has as much to do with flexibility as it is to do with getting your bike setup. I'm very picky & I setup all my bikes very carefully just as I need them & feel comfortable on them.

BTW Climbing this climb on that Bike is one thing... coming down was another!!! :)

Exactly my thoughts when I first read about the gearing on your bike. This is what I am most afraid of on a fixie.
